Aurum Preparatory Academy (Aurum Prep) is thrilled to welcome back our students for the 2022-23 school year! The smiles of our 6th grade class filled the school this week as they got to know new classmates, teachers and school. The week-long 6th grade orientation is completely unique to Aurum Prep–we are the only school in the area to offer this chance for 6th graders to build confidence and ease into middle school.
Our 7th and 8th graders joined us on Friday, August 12th and we are equally as excited to catch up on summer news and get started. The energy our new and returning students bring makes us feel like this will be our best year yet.

We will be hosting a Back to School Night in September as a chance to get to know all the new staff and your student’s teachers. We look forward to seeing you then!
We’re Going for GOLD this Year
Our teachers and staff have spent days together preparing and planning for a year filled with growth, learning and fun. Advisory classes are already up and running, with teachers getting to know all of their new advisees. All students start and end the school day in advisory, a small class of about 15 peers, giving them the chance to build relationships with teachers and peers and talk about real world issues affecting them in school or the world at-large. Your child’s advisor will be the main point person for his/her 3 years of middle school.
We also waste no time jumping into college prep skills. From the first day of school, we begin working to close the gap to ensure students are at or above grade level. In our Focus classes, students learn at their own pace, choosing acceleration or remediation as needed per subject, and receive extra 1:1 support.
If you are looking for a safe and free place for your middle schooler to go after school, be sure to sign up for after school clubs. We offer a variety of high-interest clubs like cooking and gaming that provide safe and fun social time. Tutoring and homework help will also be starting up. And don’t forget competitive sports–our girls and boys basketball teams will be in full swing this fall and co-ed soccer will start in the spring. We also look forward to our first year of flag football–come out and join us!
