Character counts. It’s the foundation for who we are and how we interact with our friends, our families, and the world around us. At Aurum Preparatory Academy, we believe the development of moral character and leadership in the middle school years is critical to the success of students in high school, college and beyond. We surround our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students with a supportive, positive culture which instills optimism and agency in our students.

College Preparatory Education & Character

Our tuition-free middle school embraces 6th-8th graders as current and future leaders, ideators, problem-solvers, and independent contributors. Our student-centered model empowers learners to stay engaged, participate, and speak up, knowing that their voices matter. Students at Aurum Prep understand they are here to become leaders.

Aurum Preparatory Academy hires representative and certified teachers who are dedicated to not only an exceptional college preparatory education, but also to shaping moral leaders who demonstrate our GOLD values throughout their lives:

Growth - Reflect and Revise

Optimism and Courage - Take Risks and Access Agency

Leadership and Learning - Collaborate and Think Critically

Design Thinking - Create and Innovate

Our weekly Community Circle meeting is a chance to celebrate student achievements, such as Golden Scholar and Growth Scholar, and publicly acknowledge those who demonstrate our values through the week. We inspire each other with our hard work and cheer each other on.

Smaller, Safer Learning

Due to our small size, Aurum Prep middle schoolers are each known for who they are. This safe community feel contributes to fewer discipline and behavior problems than a larger traditional middle school. And fewer behavior issues means less time pulled away from academics.

At Aurum Prep, our staff models moral character in all of our interactions with students. Our students can rely on us to be consistent with our expectations, compassionate with our listening skills and steadfast in our actions. It’s how we build strong, trusting relationships that allow learning and growing to flourish in a safe environment.
