Maggie Knutson

Maggie Knutson is a former educator with 20+ years invested in classroom teaching as well as instructional and equity coaching experience in upper elementary and middle school. Maggie also taught in teacher preparation programs at the University of Minnesota and the University of San Francisco. She earned her PhD in teaching and learning from the University of Minnesota with an emphasis in critical literacy and critical multiculturalism. Maggie was the former founding director of Laura Jeffrey Academy, the first girl focused charter school in the US. She also served as a governor appointed member of the Minnesota Board of Teaching. Maggie is a recipient of the National Milken Educator award ('04) and the Target Teacher of Excellence award.
