Dean of Curriculum and Culture
Originally from the Bay Area, Chelsey started her career as an educator in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She taught middle school English Language Arts and led the Response to Intervention reading program. She then transitioned onto Teach for America’s staff and served as a teacher, leadership coach and Director of District and School Partnerships where she launched professional learning communities centered on teacher development, school-wide culture and talent acquisition for district and school leaders across South Louisiana. She brings a wealth of knowledge in adult learning, session design, and facilitating diversity, equity and inclusion leadership development opportunities. She is excited to join the Aurum Prep community in providing a high quality, college prep education to the students and families in East Oakland. Chelsey holds a degree in communications from the University of Southern California and in her spare time she enjoys cheering on her favorite sports teams: The Golden State Warriors, New Orleans Saints and the USC Trojans!
